Weil historisches Wissen immer auf Medien basiert – Knochen, Schrift, Fotografie, Film usw. –, informieren und bedingen diese Medien umgekehrt auch historisches Denken. Der Autor weist auf die Leerstellen jeder historischen Aufzeichnung und damit jeden historischen Wissens hin und optiert im Anschluss an Harold Innis dafür, dass Medienhistoriker eine breites Spektrum von Dingen, Objekten, Techniken und Medien in Betracht ziehen sollten. | de |
| dc.description.abstract | The article raises the perspective of history as a history of different media. As historical knowledge is always based on media – bones, writing, photography, film etc. – these media in reverse inform and condition historical thinking. Peters points to the vacancies and voids of every historical recording and therefore knowledge and opts – with Harold Innis – to a wide range of things, objects, techniques and media that should be taken into account and interpretated by media historians. | en |
