Fake-Dokus und ihr Beitrag zur Krise der Repräsentationskritik

Abstract

Fake documentaries are often understood as a hybrid and critical form of narrative between the poles of feature and documentary film. The essay seeks to challenge this widespread attribution by showing how this specific form of critique of representation structurally suspends itself and thus systemically plays a part in the crisis of representational critique, instead of productively contributing, as a Deleuzian project of the reversal of Platonism would, to a crisis of representation.
