Abstract

The article “Materialize!“ throws light on object (histories) out of the Museum Foundation Post and Telecommunication’s (MSPT) collection. Three objects from different areas of the broadcasting collection, for one, and, on the other hand, from the collection in general, open up various timelines, materials, and approaches, when it comes to storytelling within the museum using historical objects: massive broadcasting gear from the 1920ies from Königs Wusterhausen, after war Radio-DIY out of the west allies’ zone in Germany, and the borderless discourse about listening to the radio, freedom, and paper-bound communication at times of the division of Germany. These objects represent merely focal points. There are far more types of approaches of how to tell a story when it comes to “modern” curation. You have to know which questions are to be asked. And you have to know, who is asking, or who is not.
