Article: How To Do Things With Media Images. Zur Praxis positiver Transformationen stehender Bilder
Abstract
The possibilities that positive transformations of an anticipatory understanding of the world by still images have, rest on the practice of using them. Base of this practice is an understanding of design that goes back to the fundamental interpretation of the word in the constitution of meaning: the use of design is more important than its production. The consequences of this proposition can be seen in the sense of a media ecology and thus lead out of the hermeneutic problems of iconology today
