Abstract

This article reconstructs the critiques of psychoanalysis by Isabelle Stengers and, coming from ethnopsychiatry, Tobie Nathan, which have recently been taken up by Bruno Latour in his project on modes of existence: Psychoanalysis excludes all spirit worlds and other intermediate beings that neither have an objective existence nor cannot simply be attributed to chimeras, projections or introjections. The article then raises questions about the localization of the medial in psychoanalytic theory and the significance of decoloniality in psychoanalysis.
