Wenn Data stirbt. Grenzen, Kontrolle und Migration

Abstract

With SIS I+II, VIS, Eurodac, Eurosur and the Prüm Convention, the EU-border regime has established a surveillance assemblage to control migration within and to the EU via data-doubles. The following reflections investigate the effects of such assemblages on the workings of the border as space and practice of the premediation of future risks and the production of body-data-hybrids. The essay argues that, with the medial framing of migrants via surveillance technologies, a certain di-vidualization takes place that is disrupted in further medial framings of migration.
