dc.description.abstractAnhand von Arbeiten des Zagreber Medienkünstlers Ivan Ladislav Galetas aus den 1980er Jahren befasst sich der Aufsatz mit Film-Notationen auf Papier. Galetas grafische Darstellungen stehen in einem komplexen Verhältnis zu den experimentellen Filmen, die sie entwerfen oder notieren. Die Zeichnungen, Diagramme und Tabellen operieren in einem Zwischenbereich von Kartografie, Choreografie und Analyse, sie zergliedern und synthetisieren räumliche wie temporale Strukturen und verschränken ikonische mit diskursiven Elementen. Gerade in dieser spezifischen Schriftbildlichkeit und in der graphematischen Materialität entfaltet sich, wie der Artikel zeigt, die epistemische Qualität von Galetas Auf-Zeichungen: die Kryptogrammatik der Filme wird lesbar und (noch einmal) sichtbar.de
dc.description.abstractThe article deals with film notation on paper, focusing on works by the Zagreb media artist Ivan Ladislav Galeta from the 1980s. In a complex way these film scores and graphics relate to the experimental films they generate or notate. The drawings, diagrams and tablets in Galeta′s work operate in a realm between cartography, choreography, and analysis, they dissect and synthesize spatial as well as temporal structures, entangling iconic and discursive elements. As the article shows, it is the notational iconicity and graphematic materiality which unfolds the epistemic quality of Galeta′s records: the cryptogrammatic structures of his films become readable and (for a second time) visible.en
