Abstract

The films of Luchino Visconti, according to Gilles Deleuze, provide examples of the ›crystal-image‹. ›Crystal-images‹ become manifest through Visconti's use of mirror in his films. This analysis of the film GRUPPO DI FAMIGLIA IN UN INTERNO (1974) asks whether a ›crystal-image‹ does not also result from Visconti's use of paintings.
