| dc.description.abstract | Die Installation Chorus of Soil der senegalesisch-italienischen Künstlerin Binta Diaw verbindet die Geschichte des transatlantischen Sklav_innenhandels mit der gegenwärtigen Ausbeutung von Migrant_innen in der Landwirtschaft. Das Medium dieser Verbindung ist das Sklavenschiff, dessen architektonischer Plan mit kleinen Erdhügeln nachgestellt wird. Aus den kleinen Hügeln sprießen Sämlinge und mit ihnen die Möglichkeit einer Zukunft in der Vergangenheit kolonial-kapitalistischer Regime, in der Gegenwart der plantationoscenes. Ausgehend von Diaws Arbeit geht der Beitrag der Frage nach, inwieweit es sich beim Samen um eine afro-futuristische Technologie handelt, deren Imaginationskraft Erde als Infrastruktur der Sorge wahrnehmbar werden lässt. | de |
| dc.description.abstract | The installation Chorus of Soil by the Senegalese-Italian artist Binta Diaw connects the history of the transatlantic slave trade with the current exploitation of migrants in agriculture. The medium of this connection is the slave ship, whose architectural layout is recreated with small mounds of earth. Seedlings sprout from these small mounds, and with them the possibility of a future in the past of colonial-capitalist regimes, and in the present of plantationoscenes. Drawing from Diaw’s work, the paper explores the question of the extent to which the seed is an Afrofuturistic technology whose imaginative power allows soil to become perceptible as an infrastructure of care. | en |
