Article:
Vom Nachleben in der Wissenschaftsgeschichte

Abstract

Aby Warburgs notion «Nachleben», survival of the image has been taken up by Georges Didi-Huberman in order to describe a certain historicity of the image, better: an anachronism which consists in a dynamic of repression and memory. The article applies this concept from art history to the history of science and asks how and where ideas of vitalism have survived in the logical thinking of cybernetics.
