dc.description.abstractThis essay discusses the idea of wisdom coaches for end-of-life dialogues. It is shown that end-oflife discussions are dominated by the medical-technological imperative that results in a widespread overtreatment of patients. It is argued that end-of-life dialogues have to revolve around the meaning of dying. The question is: how do we facilitate end-of-life dialogues? The idea of a mixed-reality wisdom coach that uses gaming principles is explored. The complexity of the design is understood and supported by the ontology as developed by Dutch philosopher Herman Dooyeweerd.en
