dc.description.abstract	On the occasion of the Italian translation of Theorien des Dokumentarfilms zur Einführung (Hamburg: Junius 2020) / Teorie del film documentario (Turin: Einaudi 2023) (Theories of Documentary Film: An Introduction), this lecture outlines some general ideas on the history and theory of documentary filmmaking. The focus lies on the status of documentary film in the age of post-factuality. Yet post-factuality is not a novelty for documentary filmmaking; it has always been an integral part of its history.	en
