The article outlines main features of a «critique of algorithmic rationality» with regard to programs of artificial creativity as presented by AI research. The considerations are based on a philosophical reflection on validity that starts less with the informational models and rather with the mathematics that founded them. This leads back to what is known as the foundational crisis of mathematics at the beginning of the twentieth century as one of the starting points of computer science, and in particular to Gödel's incompleteness theorems and Gödel’s «disjunction», which show inner limitations of the ability of mathematics to be in itself mathematized. In particular, the article attempts to discuss how intelligence and creativity relate to the metaphysical project of a continuous mathematization and formalization of the world, while also addressing at its conclusion a simplistic representation of creativity and art in AI research.
