Are pictures able to pass on an imagination of future? Can they pass on an imagination of future in not only the well-known manner of puffing up catastrophes, but by emphasizing the positive aspects of future changes? The living conditions of many people are changing rapidly, especially in the developing countries. Both, the material and the cultural foundation for a mutual and beneficial cooperation on this planet are decreasing. This publication enquires about the general and the special ability of pictures: the ability to escort a cultural transformation process and the ability possibly to change this transformation process into something which is considered positive. Especially the genuine picture assisted communication as well as the development of a collective visual reference frame is discussed.
