Lesen X.0. Rezeptionsprozesse in der digitalen Gegenwart

Abstract

Digitalisation influences both the reader and the act of reading itself: electronic reading devices are changing the mediality of the reading process and, along with it, its related practices. The online world offers readers the opportunity to integrate themselves, expand existing literary worlds with fan fiction and exchange ideas with authors. The active “prosumer” walks alongside silent recipients. These developments also affect the book market: online retailers are now establishing themselves as places of literary connecting communication; customer reviews and reading blogs are gaining in importance as literary critical institutions, unlike the feuilleton. This interdisciplinary volume analyses these phenomena and describes how reception processes are shaped in the digital present.
