The aim of the talk was to introduce digital literature, to present German examples of certain types of digital literature, and to discuss how these pieces exploit the technology of the medium to tell a story.

She has been a visiting scholar at Brown University and at Oxford University, where she did research on hypertext. She is Co-Chair of the HT 00 Conference Reading Section and a member of the Program Committee. Roberto Simanowski talked with her about the state of the art and research of hypertext in Spain, about the pedagogical potential of hypertext, about the "hype-excitement" regarding the freeing of readers by multilinear linkage, and about parameters to classify a digital work of art.

- ArticlePraiseloser Internet-Literaturpreis zum Millennium: Netzliteratur in der Krise?Simanowski, Roberto (2000)Das Literatur-Café und blue window hatten Anfang November 1999 einen Internet-Literaturpreis zum Millennium ausgeschrieben. Die Beiträge sollten das Thema - Millennium und Jahr 2000 - literarisch aufgreifen und mit den Mitteln des Netzes umsetzen. Denkbar waren HTML-Format und Hypertexte, Flash- und Shockwave-Animationen, Film- und Tondaten u.v.a.m., nur eben nicht das, was auch in Papierform hätte erfolgen können. Genau hier liegt - wie die Bekanntgabe der Ergebnisse am 6. 2. 2000 zeigt - das Problem.
