Kein Lagebericht. Einleitung in den Schwerpunkt

This special issue explores antiracist practice within media studies. The invited contributions represent a spectrum of how racist experiences and continuities can be dealt with at the university as well as of emerging spaces for action. The question of antiracist practice can, however, only be posed in relation to our own actions. This is why the introduction reflects on the production process of the issue: from talking and working with one another, to peer-review procedures and conventions of the work of media studies, to necessary essentializing categories – that which has to be negotiated continuously is deliberately put up for discussion.
