Article: Braucht die Medienwissenschaft eine Philologie der Medien?
Abstract
«Media philology» is traditionally conceived of as the preservation, description, annotation, and, if required, also the reconstruction of cultural artifacts and their media. This contribution argues for an expansion of this basic understanding. Medial practices and details, and a marked attention paid to narrative formats and details of (and in) media are the core themes emerging from the current discussion of the scope of an expanded media philology.
