Abstract

In this interview, we bring together activist and analytical perspectives on TikTok to decode the media strategies of digital fascism and to discuss political demands. Magdalena Hess launched the #reclaimTikTok campaign from within civil society in 2024. Leo Fischer, who works at the Anne Frank Educational Center, has done research and given several reports and recommendations on how to deal with TikTok. A conversation about right-wing TikTok aesthetics, platform architectures and the need for civil society interventions.
