Interpellations to improve performance are ubiquitous in academia, especially in view of the few positions and competitive research funding. A growing business of academic skills training includes seminars on personality profiling, in which approaches from human resources optimization are mobilized for a management of the self. This contribution follows the institutional set-up and data infrastructures of such a program. Describing the specific data logistics and distributed valuation processes, this analysis inquires into the implications in academic institutions and practices.
