Article: Zwischen Raubtier und Chamäleon. Das Schicksal der Filmwissenschaft
Abstract
In discussing recent media theories which question the importance and validity of classical film and Film Studies, e.g. by Lev Manovich, the author comes to the conclusion that the dispositive of cinema consists in a specific illusionism which is not wiped out by digital media but rather diffuses into them. That means as a consequences that Film Studies still find their motives and motivation in analyzing the relation of evidence and illusion, of perception and aesthetics of the moving image.
