Zeitschrift für interdisziplinäre Bildwissenschaft“ erscheint im Januar 2005 zum ersten Mal. Mit der Ausgabe „Bildwissenschaft als interdisziplinäres Unternehmen. Eine Standortbestimmung“ möchte IMAGE als Auftakt einige Grundsatzartikel zum Status und zur Methode der Bildwissenschaft zur Diskussion stellen. Diese intendieren, einen anregenden Einblick in die bisher noch sehr heterogen erscheinenden Positionen einer im Aufbau befindlichen interdisziplinären Bildwissenschaft zu geben. Für die MitarbeiterInnen des Virtuellen Instituts für Bildwissenschaft (VIB) besteht die Möglichkeit, die Beiträge zu kommentieren. Dieser Diskussionsprozess soll wiederum die Autoren zur kritischen Reflexion ihrer Beiträge anregen.The e-journal „IMAGE. Journal for interdisciplinary image science“ appeared for the first time in January 2005. With the present issue, „Image Science as an interdisciplinary enterprise. A definition of position“, an attempt is made to discuss some key questions concerning the status and methods of image science. As the interdisciplinary image science is still being created as a science, the present articles try to give insides into some of the theoretic positions, that still appear quite heterogeneous.
