Künstliche Intelligenzen. Einleitung in den Schwerpunkt

Abstract

Media create artificial intelligences, because media have always played a crucial part in their emergence and appearance, in view and ideas about them, and in their technologies. With the current boom in machine learning processes and artificial neural networks, the importance of media in general, and for the training and application of smart machines in particular, has again increased significantly. This issue focuses on how this medial dimension can be determined in relation to the development of technology, the history of ideas and knowledge, and sociotechnical imaginations that have emerged in the context of artificial intelligence.
