Von-Neumann-Architektur, Speicherprogramierung und modernes Code-Paradigma. Drei Leitbilder früher Rechenanlagen

Author(s): Haigh, Thomas

Abstract

Historians agree that the first wave of modern computers under construction around the world during the late 1940s were all inspired by a single conceptual design, an unpublished typescript cryptically titled «First Draft of a Report on the EDVAC». In historical retrospect, three paradigms of early computing should be distinguished: the Von-Neumann-Architecture, the EDVAC-Hardware-Paradigm, and the Modern Code Paradigm. The article documents their transitory unity and distinguishes their separate trajectories from what is usually lumped together under the umbrella term «Stored Program».
