Abstract

The dissertation analyzes ideas of virtuality with regard to mobile media technologies. Concepts of the virtual are examined from a mediaphilosophical perspective and the emergence of mobile media technologies is being reconstructed. The study is centered around the question how mobile telecommunication transforms comprehensions of world and the role virtuality plays within these frameworks of reality.
