Abstract

This article discusses presentation concepts for the immersive 360° medium planetarium, which fall under the categories mapping, passages and navigation. The history of the planetarium will be outlined as well as its development to new media formats and applications. A special focus is on the epistemological function of immersive space as a knowledge tool, which merges scientific approaches merges with artistic presentations. The immersive space itself becomes an instrument for navigation through new data landscapes.
