This paper traces the author’s early digital media projects fromthemid-1980s to the present that are based on computerprocessing andthe integration of noise as an aesthetic elementin the author’s evolv-ing digital photographic projects. Buildingon his background in photography, the projects explore therelationship of noise-to-signaland the influence of Claude Shannon’sInformation theory in theauthor’s work.
