Abstract

The text discusses the logic of transitive inferences as crucial components of ‹immersive› cinematic forms. The theoretical framework is provided by the notion of image schemasin cognitive semantics. A brief discussion of the ‹Container›-schema in Christoph Nolans Inception exemplifies the theoretical approach. Transitive inferences appear to be connected to an implicit knowledge about the reference to a reality ‹outside› immersion.
