Book part: Das narrative Selbst. Erzählökonomie im Web 2.0
Author(s):
Abstract
My analysis will address the rise of Web 2.0 in the context of theoretical work on the knowledge/power relationship. Social networking sites such as Facebook, YouTube and MySpace carry large amounts of personal data, which can potentially be used by a number of actors for a variety of purposes. The paper argues that the relationship between digital storytelling and the grassroots movement and the move from decentralised web to the socially networked web represents a struggle against subjectification. In this investigation I will examine the role of digital-narratives, truth-telling, self-confession and the procedures of exclusion and inclusion.
