- ArticleLiteraturfeste und Netz-Diskurse: Das erste Internationale Literaturfestival und der HypertextSimanowski, Roberto (2001-06-19) , S. 1-3Jedes Literaturfestival, das etwas auf sich hält, scheint heutzutage auch eine Veranstaltung zu Netzliteratur und Hypertext anbieten zu wollen. Beim großen Fest der Schweizer, den 23. Solothurner Literaturtagen vom 25. bis 27. Mai, war Hypertext das Schwerpunktthema und wurde mit vier Vorführungen und Diskussionsrunden recht ausführlich vorgestellt. Auch das erste Internationale Literaturfestival vom 14.-24. Juni in Berlin zeigt keine Berührungsängste und nahm eine Diskussionsrunde zu Literatur im Internet/Hypertext ins Programm auf. Ist der Glaube an die Zukunft des Buches so groß, dass man den Medienkonkurrenten nicht mehr fürchten zu müssen glaubt? Oder ist er so schwach, dass man diesen nicht länger ignorieren will?

- ArticleScott Snibbe's DEEP WALLS: A Close ReadingSimanowski, Roberto (2006) , S. 1-6Deep Walls (2003), by Scott Snibbe (see interview), consists of a camera and a rectangular screen which is divided in 16 smaller rectangular screens. The camera records the projected shadow of the viewers who move in front of the screen, and each of the small screens plays one of those recordings over and over until a new recording replaces the oldest recording. The piece is set up in a way that the viewer is not aware that she is recorded; she only realizes that her oversized shadow is projected onto the big rectangle, not knowing that when she leaves her action materializes as a looping silhouette in one of the small screens. Given the inexplicitness of the grammar of interaction, in many cases what is recorded is the attempt to figure out the grammar of interaction. This can be considered a metacommentary on interactivity. However, there is much more symbolic in this installation.

Da werden Websites gefälscht, da werden Falschmeldungen in Umlauf gebracht, da geben sich Künstler als Politiker aus. Aber die Inszenierung ist nicht Selbstzweck. Die Hochstapelei erfolgt im Dienste der Aufklärung und dient der Vermittluing von Medienkompetenz. Es geht um die Erziehung zum Misstrauen. Die Reservierung der richtigen Domain ist oft der Anfang.
