Abstract

The text reacts to the piece "Wege und Ziele" by Christoph Engemann Till A. Heilmann and Florian Sprenger. It asks, whether the problems that the text discusses are specific to media studies -- or if they are rather a general predicament of the humanities. In this regard, the text encourages to conceive of media studies as an interdisciplinary and open project. That also means not to overestimate the influence of methods.
