{kA}: KEINE AHNUNG VON SCHWERKRAFT. Einführung in die Gebäude-Klangkomposition im (halb-)öffentlichen Raum und Bericht über eine Annäherung an den historischen Bau der Alten Gerberei in Murau, Österreich

This text deals with the artistic exploration of buildings and their spaces, which has taken place, within the project series {kA}: KEINE AHNUNG VON SCHWERKRAFT. For that the project series uses temporarily vacant buildings in various cities as sound spaces. The sound material, recovered within an acoustic exploration of space architecture, becomes an integral part of multi-channel sound composition experienced. In this way a series of works of compositions with and in these buildings arises, which collects and records the empirical data. The central idea of the production series is the examination of the encountered acoustic material and the production of other (staged) spaces. The article explains the working principles of sound composition for buildings and illustrate their application by means of the production descriptions of work in the summer of 2012 in the old tannery Murau.
